One of the most pressing questions for humanity is to address the problem of feeding and providing safe drinking water to a growing world population. Against this background, it is necessary to increase efforts aimed at developing new food sources and utilising existing food reserves, as well as at the dissemination of related projects, in order to contribute in an environmentally beneficial manner to sustainably feeding the world and ending hunger.
Over the last decades Dr. Dr. Hc. Herman Eiselen and his wife Edith-Karla Eiselen have given much time, financial resources and dedication to meet these challenges. The Hermann and Edith-Karla Eiselen Memorial Foundation, which was established by Ms. Edith-Karla Eiselen in the year 2013, aims to continue their endeavours beyond her lifetime. The foundation has no political, confessional or economic affiliations and acknowledges the principles of humanity, tolerance and liberality of a democratic society.
Purpose of the Foundation
It is the purpose of the foundation to contribute to decreasing hunger and poverty in developing countries and to protecting natural resources through promoting research, scientific exchange and young academics.
